I was keen to go along to this event in parliament to support the National Kidney Federation in their efforts towards early detection of kidney disease.
This impacts so many people and I had the privilege of speaking to some on the day who told me about their care and treatment.
I also learned about home testing kits that are now available to ease early detection so that early intervention can be put in place.
