Dr Cameron was delighted to be a co-signatory to the new House of Commons Bill on Down Syndrome as Chair of the Down Syndrome and Disability All Party Groups.
“It was great to meet with Tommy Jessop and other young people with Down Syndrome yesterday to hear their thoughts on the Bill and the definitive progress made. Cross party working in parliament can make positive progress, and I have been informed that Liam Fox MP’s Private Members Bill has now gained Government support and will become legislation”
It will ensure there is a duty on the local authority and care providers to give assessment and access for people with Down Syndrome and their families treatment and care needs. The Down Syndrome All Party Parliamentary Group are very pleased to be part of positive change.
